Tti’s Social Programme – not one dull moment!

Our intern, Annie, had the exciting opportunity to join our daily Social Programme for a whole week. Read about her impressions and what she experienced!

Last week was very exciting for me! I tried out the Social Programme – or SocProg in short – and participated in all activities for a whole week. The SocProg takes place every Monday to Thursday with different teachers and you can join in on any activity you want to – just make sure to sign up in reception before! On the weekends Tti makes exciting recommendations for different activities happening in and outside London! Let me tell you a little about the fantastic SocProg:

Monday – Guided Tour through Camden

Every Monday there is a guided tour through Camden by one of our teachers. They will fill you in on everything you need to know about Camden, e. g. the closest cash machines, where to have lunch and dinner, Camden Market and more! Afterwards you can choose to either stay at Camden Market and have a further look around or to go back to the Study Lounge and play the most well-known game Scrabble!

Tuesday – Quinn’s Pub

Today was a special day, because it was St. Patrick’s Day! We went to an Irish Pub, called Quinn’s, which is in Kentish Town – just a 10 minute walk from school. We sat together, enjoyed our drinks, enjoyed the food and had the chance to get to know each other even better. The atmosphere at Quinn’s is great – try it out!

Wednesday – Soul Music Workshop

I participated in a workshop for soul music – we listened to many different songs, e. g. by Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Otis Redding and analysed the instruments that were used. We also learned how soul music changed throughout time and what the reasons were for this. Listen closely and feel the vibe! (Click there for Mike’s Soul Music play list on Youtube! )

Thursday – The Monument Tour

The Monument was built between 1671 and 1677 and stands for the Great Fire of London and to celebrate the rebuilding of the City. To have an amazing view from London above, you need to walk up 311 steps, so make sure you’re fit for this! It’s worth it though – I got a cool certificate!

All in all, there is plenty to see in London. Joining our social programme is a great way to do this! There is a different programme every week, so it never gets dull. Get tips from our insiders, join in on the fun and enjoy yourselves! Check our social programme board for all activities of the month and make sure to sign up in reception!

Are you not in London yet but curious to check out what we have on our social calendar? You can always keep up to date by visiting our website!

See you at the next activity!
