Complaints Procedure

We aim to provide service of a standard that is acceptable to all students. If we fail to do this we want to know about it. This will enable us not only to deal with the specific problem, but also to avoid it happening again.

This complaint procedure explains how you can raise any concerns about the service you have received from us.

Our main objective is to respond promptly and effectively to any student dissatisfaction as it arises. If you are not satisfied with our service, please talk to us immediately. We shall try to solve the problem quickly and informally.

This document outlines the procedure to be followed if informal discussions do not solve the problem and a student wants to register a formal complaint.

  • This procedure exists to resolve a dispute between the school and any complaint made. It requires staff to do their best to resolve the complaint. Complaints are likely to be in one or more of the following areas: dissatisfaction with the professional quality of teaching, problems with accommodation, unacceptable failure to deliver a service, discourtesy or unhelpfulness on the part of the staff.
  • When a complaint cannot be resolved informally, a formal complaint can be made in writing or orally. When a complaint is received, the Director of Studies will be notified and will offer to meet the student. If there is a meeting the Director of Studies will keep a record of the conversation. The Director of Studies will attempt to resolve the matter in person or by letter within 5 working days of receiving the complaint.
  • If the student wants to pursue the complaint further, the student will be asked to put the complaint in writing to the Directors, marked private and confidential, providing as much detail of the complaint as possible.
  • The Directors will investigate the complaint and attempt to resolve it.
  • The Directors will respond to the complaint in writing within 15 working days of the complaint being received. The written response will summarise what investigation has been carried out and what action, if any, is proposed to resolve the matter.
  • All complaints will be recorded and kept on file. All complaints are subject to the school’s confidentiality policy.
