Glossary:

Safeguarding – this term is for the overall care and safety of everyone at TopUp Learning London (Tti)
The Designated Safeguarding Person is the person to report any concerns raised by staff, students or other adults regarding a students aged under 18 at TopUp Learning London (Tti).
Enhanced DBS - This is legal check on all staff members to ensure there is no known reason that they cannot work with students under 18.
Students under the age of 18 are considered children in England by law. TopUp Learning London (Tti) welcomes adults and under 18 students and is committed to safeguarding them and everyone else including host families, students aged 18+, teachers, office staff and group leaders.
The London school is mainly an adult environment and this document gives you information about what we do to look after students aged 16 and 17 years old and younger. Summer Junior has no adult students. RAAS has some 18 years old students.

Parents: By signing this agreement, you are confirming you are happy for your child to study at TopUp Learning London (Tti).

Students: By signing this agreement, you are agreeing to behave appropriately. You are aware of the rules in place to look after you during your stay at TopUp Learning London (Tti).

Agreement:

1) ACCOMMODATION

I agree to my son/daughter staying in the accommodation arranged by the school.

If you are arranging private accommodation for your son/daughter we must have the following information and you agree that you are responsible for the welfare and safeguarding of student:

Will not go outside the designated area
Not leave the accommodation without permission
Follow the curfew time set by the group and school leader

Curfew time for RAAS Summer Camp is 9:30pm to 7am regardless of the age of students.

2) TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS

We use a reputable transfer company. Your son/daughter will be met at arrivals and taken directly to their home stay accommodation. On receipt of all arrival details we will send the group leader a confirmation of the transfer outlining the procedures in place to ensure that your child gets from the airport to their accommodation safely.

3) MEDICAL DETAILS

It is very important that the school and host family are made aware of any illnesses that your son/daughter suffers from, including the medication they are taking. This includes both physical (for example, diabetes, allergies etc.) and mental (depression, anxiety etc.).

Parents - by signing this form you are agreeing that you have told Tti all important medical information regarding your son/daughter's.

Please note, if we are not informed of a health issue during the enrolment process, on arrival we will review their application to ensure we can provide the right level of care.

4) SOCIAL PROGRAMME/ACTIVITIES ARRANGEMENTS

I understand that my child will attend the activities and excursions in addition to the timetabled classes.

Students coming as part of a group may have additional activities during the week and weekend.

5) SCHOOL RULES

These are important rules your son/daughter must understand before joining our course. They will be explained in greater detail by our staff when they arrive.

6) STUDENT WELFARE IN SCHOOL

I understand that:

my son/daughter will come into regular contact with other students over the age of 18, in class and during the leisure programme
he/she is responsible for buying their own lunch during the week
there are certain British laws (e.g. related to smoking and drinking alcohol) that apply to people aged under 18. As a consequence, there may be some leisure activities which my son/daughter cannot take part in because of their age.

Students coming for Summer Camp or full day juniors will have lunch included if it is part of their package. Other students coming through a group may or may not have lunch included in their package. Please check the package carefully.

7) SOCIAL MEDIA AND IT

Please read our E-Safety Policy with your son/daughter. This includes details on the risks of Social Media and online. There are our recommendations and guidelines to protect your son/daughter online.

8) INSURANCE RECOMMENDATIONS

We recommend that students all take out insurance prior to travelling. This is not a service that we directly offer. However, we can use a third party to arrange the insurance for you.

9) LAWS IN THE UK

The laws in the UK may be different from those in your home country. This especially applies to the use of tobacco and alcohol.

Students must not have drugs with them (unless prescribed by a doctor) or use any illegal drugs, including cannabis, ecstasy, LSD or amphetamines. It is illegal to carry any sort of weapon including knives, self defence sprays, guns or stun guns.

You must be over 18 to buy tobacco. You must be 18 and over to buy alcohol. Never buy something that you think might be stolen (a mobile phone, DVD etc)

11) DATA PROTECTION LAWS IN THE UK

A photo of the student will be taken on the first day of classes in order to give him/her the student card. I understand that this is part of the first day procedure and I give consent to have my child's photo taken for this purpose.

Also to comply with data protection laws in the UK, please read and agree to the conditions regarding the use of photographic and video images by TopUp Learning London (Tti). TopUp Learning London (Tti) may use your child's image in materials aimed at the school community ( brochures, newsletters, social media platforms, blog posts), on the school's website, in the background of photos of other students and/or social programme activities . By signing this document I agree to this.

12) travel to and from the school

I allow my child to travel alone to and from the school (please see the restrictions and curfew table).

Groups and Camp students are required to follow the group requirements and group leader’s instruction at all time

20) Guardian

I appoint the principal of the school TopUp Learning London (Tti) to be the nominated guardian for my child while he/she is in the UK and need emergency support. The principal can delegate the responsibility and right to other designated staff or the homestay family when needed.
