Useful information about COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Due to the current global situation with Covid-19 (more commonly known as Coronavirus) it is important to keep yourself up to date on the UK government response so that you know what precautions to take. Follow this link for these updates. The government also publishes its advice through the NHS website (it also contains advice for travellers). You can check the World Health Organization (WHO) questions and answers on coronaviruses (COVID-19) for more information. 


As at any time, the importance of basic routine hygiene measures is vital:

  • Regular thorough handwashing

  • use tissues for coughs and sneezes and then put them into the bin, and cough and sneeze into elbows if necessary.

  • It is important not to touch your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.

The risk of contracting the virus in the UK is moderate but if you are in any doubt, please contact the NHS 111 helpline or by dialling ‘111′ on your phone.

Use this service if:

  • you think you might have coronavirus

  • in the last 14 days you’ve been to a country or area with a high risk of coronavirus – see our coronavirus advice for travellers

  • you’ve been in close contact with someone with coronavirus

If you need to self isolate. This means you need to:

  • stay at home

  • do not come to school

  • do not use public transport

  • ask friends or the team at Tti for help 

  • try to avoid visitors to your accommodation
